FAQS

Below are some of the questions that we’ve asked ourselves at times. We figure you might be asking them too. If so, you’re in luck: we’ve also provided answers.

THE BASICS

As mentioned, we generally are a bunch of dorks. Our name comes from our love for Tolkien’s lore of Middle-Earth. Specifically, Strider was the name of a character who represented the awesome potential of humankind.

We are building a platform that allows communities to create stories and worlds together. We believe that the future is going to be about harnessing the power of collective creativity and are in the process of figuring out fun ways to do that. There are many issues to solve to make this work, but we’re the team to do it!

The members of our core team all have strong backgrounds in successful interactive fiction games that kept audiences engaged for long periods of time. They’ve also built toolsets that enable people with little technical knowledge to create complex narrative content.  Lastly, we have story and world builders who have developed content around some of the biggest franchises in the world.

Community energy is at its most profound when a community engages a problem in real time, but one of the biggest obstacles to real-time communal storytelling has been how difficult it is to make the process rich and deep. The new technologies we’re talking about go a long way to solving this. Integrated tool frameworks for app development like REACT, drag-and-drop interfaces, Generative AI that allows text to image and media enhancement, all help communities create together in real time to produce high quality work. Plus, there are blockchain technologies that allow for asset trackability and ownership, as well as frictionless contracts and payment settlement and even DAOs, all of which solve two of the other big problems: governance and compensation. The next step is finding the combination of these technologies that optimizes both the quality of the outputs and the fun that people have while producing them.

A decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) are generally member-owned communities without centralized leadership. They are usually founded around a computer program that transparently enacts the basic rules of governance. Major decisions that fall outside the purview of this program are decided by member voting.

We are currently incorporated in the USA, and are not yet a DAO. We believe deeply in the potential power of DAOs to create trustless (no reliance on a third party), or more well balanced organizations in which all decisions are made with community power and not just top-down.  To create these organizations in a way that functions well, you must move slowly and understand your product and community extremely well.  We are continuing to understand the impact a DAO can have on the way we work and build and will be developing our plans to utilize DAO stacks when we have more knowledge on our community and a deeper conviction in how to deploy it.

We are a company disrupting both the games and general entertainment industry (long and short-form content) with the notion that it’s possible for a community to work together to produce the kind of quality IPs that the game and entertainment companies want you to believe only they are capable of.

We’re also going to try creating a more free-spirited way for people to turn their creativity into income.

We are. We’re working with TreasureDAO’s Smolverse community to build a hi-fidelity video game around the Smol brand. We are also working with Axie Infinity on lore for the community. We’ve got some other things in the works, but we’re not 100% ready to talk about that.
